Hi, I'm Mhy!

Mhy San Miguel is from the town of Obando in Bulacan. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing in 2023 from Bulacan State University-Main Campus. She also completed the Ladderized Computer Science Program NCIV for Computer Engineering in 2017. Currently, she works as a Project Development Officer for the Guest of Honour (GOH) Committee, specifically in the Publishers and Creatives Engagement Committee (PCEC) of the National Book Development Board. She is happy to be part of the preparations for the Philippines as the Guest of Honour at the upcoming Frankfurt Book Fair 2025—the largest book fair in the world.Mhy San Miguel has been involved with many publishing houses since 2015, but what truly honed her skills were her experiences at Lathala Press—a group formed by Nayin Yagdulas along with fellow writers and editors from Wattpad. It was in 2018 when she got to know Immac Printing Services, which is now better known as Immac Printing and Publishing House. She was the first editor when it rebranded as a publishing house, and to this day, she continues to receive work from them as a project-based editor.During her college studies, she was the only one in her batch who was given the opportunity to be part of Adarna House as a writer and researcher for their internship program. She also became a full-time editor at Precious Pages Corporation in 2023, and occasionally still receives manuscripts for editing from them. She also handles manuscripts that become available on Amazon and Kindle, most of which are from the writer Shirley Siaton. But her favorite of all is editing and formatting self-published books from Wattpad. Some of the well-known authors whose manuscripts she has handled, whether self-published or under traditional publishing, are as follows:1. Tina Lata (blue_maiden)
2. Barbs Galicia
3. KnightInBlack
4. Beeyotch
5. Megan Cara
6. Al Joseph Lumen (2023 Palanca Awardee)
7. Jaye Are Hatake (mula sa Pinoy Creepypasta)
8. Inksteady
She is a registered Editor, Author, and Book Designer with the National Book Development Board since 2021. Her first book titled "Tula.la" was published in 2021. She has also been involved in many anthologies, and "Kalimbahin" by 7 Eyes Production is one of her favorites. She also became part of various workshops for literature. In 2024, she was selected as one of the participants in the "Editing and Publishing 101: A Seminar-Workshop for Aspiring Editors" conducted by The Inteligente Publishing, Inc. She was also selected to participate in the workshop launched by the Sentro ng Wikang Filipino – UP Diliman titled “Pagpapayabong ng Tulang Pambata” as part of “Pasinati: Pagsasanay sa Wika, Teorya, at Metodolohiya” in March 2024.She knows that despite her experiences, there is still much she needs to learn and discover. She aspires to continue being a tool of literature for the broader learning of her peers in this industry and field.
